I will be aiming my magazine at any of the three main classes, lower working and upper. More specifically my magazine will is aimed at people that favour rock music which is generally teenagers. This is because of the ideologies that the typical teenager is rebellious, much like how the rock music genre is portrayed, this is reinforced by the lyrics and style of the many rock songs. Although some rock songs aren't "rebellious" the use of loud instruments are still seen this way.
From searching the Internet and looking at some reader profile research for other magazines as well as concert videos on you tube I can see that there are a variety of male and female teenagers and young adults that like this genre but I also noticed that there were more females.
To adhere to there needs i will advertise numerous exclusives and show familiar conventions of the typical music magazine. I will also try to use an image that has an appealing composition for the cover. I shall also use a colour theme that suggests rock music and is very expressive.
In terms of pricing for my magazine i looked at numerous magazines and the average price that i saw was around £3.99. However it is becoming increasing popular to subscribe to a magazine to receive each issue on a regular basis, often weekly issues. It is also becoming more popular to purchase magazines using your devices like you mobile phone for example. Not only is this cheaper, by around half price. Kerrang for example on the Google play store varies between £1-£2. The only downfall is that you will not receive and free gifts or toys.
If I were to include any gifts or prizes for my magazine they would most likely be items that relate to the artists inside, things like exclusive merchandise that is exclusive to my magazine but for a popular rock band. Not only does this make the item exclusive it makes the readers feel part of a social group or a society, as they can recognise other readers of the magazine. In terms of the actual gift it would be things like guitar picks, drum sticks , musical accessories as well as posters and stickers things like this. Not only are these small and realistically cheap enough to give away in a magazine and still make profit, they would still appeal to people that don't play any musical instruments as they can be used as decoration or accessories.
